It's not what you collect that defines you, but how you go about it. The example is Frieda and her collection of strands of fur. There is a beauty, for her, in the way fur grows. The synchronization of an animal's coat gives Frieda a thrill every time. Each hair knows exactly what its expectations are. She makes sure she pulls samples from a live creature to keep the validity of her samples. This is dangerous work.
