Just like Mongolian overtone singers can hit two notes at once, so can Hamish with his thoughts. He can stew about the vexing sound of his brother's loud (but closed-mouth) chewing and plot to eradicate the sound from his life, and at the very same time, be picking at the love-scab he has with his wife (mostly replaying that time she remembered he liked oranges).
